My God, that movie is AWFUL.

I love Kaiju movies. I've liked most of this monsterverse's offerings, but this one just sucked from start to finish. Well, Mothra design was pretty cool.

But yeah, I can't find much to like about this one.

You didn’t like the hollow earth tribe with crazy technology or the Kong power glove?

It was very stupid but I liked it better than the King of the Monsters and first Godzilla/Kong movie for some reason. It just seemed to lean into it's stupidity more. The Trapper character was so ridiculously stupid. Going down into the hollower Earth inside of the hollow Earth. The Power Glove.

Just finished it today after starting it yesterday.

I think Godzilla Minus One absolutely ruined this for me, but it was really bad anyway. The fact that they shoehorned a baby in there because of Baby Yoda’s popularity was so over the top.

As a lifelong Godzilla fan, and witnessing aliens in the originals, this was like a bad Joel Schumacher Batman movie.

It was so bad that I actually enjoyed it just to laugh at it.

See for me it leaved too hard into the stupid campiness. Everything about it was retarded and I didn’t enjoy any of it. I did like the other Godzilla movies. The monster fights against Ghidorah felt big and destructive, as did the fights against Kong in the prior movie. This movie just felt like a goofy cartoon with no sense of scale.

I'm not going to say it's awful, as it is on par with the rest of legendary's monsterverse, which for me is cheesy yet enjoyable.

I will say that I'm absolutely furious at myself for watching GxK in theaters instead of minus one.

It's my least favorite of the Legendary movies, and unfortunately, we're going to get more of the same. More G + K buddy cop stuff. I'm just not a fan. Sure, bring back Rodan, Mothra, have them all combat a common foe or something, but this has veered so far from the path of Godzilla 2014, it's unrecognizable.

But then again, it's not like we've not seen campy, slapstick versions of these monsters before. I just wish they'd kept it more grounded, as it were, instead of going full Transformery.

It's basically an animated movie that takes it to self too seriously. Think Despicable Me, just not funny.

It’s such a mess and they kill so many people in Rio that it’s funny

I finally watched it last week and holy shite it's awful. 95% of the movie we don't even see Godzilla. There's fun good cheesiness and there's bad, this was horrible.

Y'all lie to me and tell me you didn't laugh when Kong used that baby kong as weapon against the other apes and it was screaming when he was bopping them in the head. Then he threw it like a tomahawk.

Meh... it is what it is. A movie about 2 400 foot tall monsters fighting other 400 foot tall monsters in an underground earth.

And it was cheesy, campy, ridiculous and, IMO, sort awesome. Was it great? no. Was it fun? Absolutely. And that's why you go to a movie called Godzilla X Kong... for fun... certainly not for some in depth plot, deep character building and CERTAINLY not for the humans.

Exactly. In King of the Monsters the dumb bitch releases all the titans to cure global warning or some shite because Godzilla happened to kill her son in the first movie. That's stupider than anything that happens in this very stupid movie.

Took my 9 year old to see in theaters and it’s his favorite movie now, watched tonight on max and still was jazzed for some kong action.

I thought it was ok but low expectations obviously

That's what's wrong with the movie, there wasn't enough of the monsters fighting it was mostly nonsense with humans.

It took me a bit to get into it because I couldn’t tell if I was watching an animated movie, a video game or an actual live action film. It looked horrible. Once I got used to the effects I sorta enjoyed it.

It's jarring watching 2014 Godzilla then seeing Godzilla X Kong a week later. The shift in tone is crazy. I wish Legendary had stayed with the darker, more "realistic" version of the world.

Agreed. Kong: skull island was a little less so but still a more serious movie.

I have enjoyed all of them for what they were. Godzilla: KotM is the only one I just flat out didn’t enjoy at all and would never watch again.
