Of all Elon’s ventures, Starlink could end up being the biggest game changer. High speed no matter how remote.

Helps to own a space launch company, too.

That being said, there will come a time when all the satellites he’s put up there are obsolete. Wonder if there is a way to just have them self-destruct by dropping back into the atmosphere.

Now I have a new rabbit hole to go down.

We flew Delta from Italy to Atlanta and they have free Wifi for Tmobile users. It worked good enough the entire time to text and send emails, and what not.

I don't see any reason to allow people to stream video when they offer a lot of in flight streaming options.

That's not how it'll happen.

They won't ever replace ALL OF THEM at once.

As there are failures, they will be replaced with newer, more up to date models. It will be a continuous process that will go on until something better comes along.

The great thing about flying should be no one can get in touch with you and you can take a nap and relax.

I fly around 400 hours a year and the last thing I want is connectivity on flights!

They need to fly this bird to Iran... ASAP.

Good news is Musk has his team working round-the-clock, to address Iran's data jamming.

Musk is my hero.

I’m going to be a customer by summer. I’m planning a 15 trip to Glacier, Yellowstone, and Tetons and will be able to check in a few days here and there.

Show me where I said they would.

I said that all the ones up there now would be obsolete at some point.

That’s not the same thing.

But if there are any obstructions even remotely close to you, other tall buildings trees etc, it doesn't work. I recently bought starlink mini to try to use it in my house. Afixed it to a windw with a pretty clear view of the sky, but still can't get enough of a signal to use it. I'm going to keep it so when I travel I can use it. But you better be wide open, free and clear from structures and trees.

.

He's already thought of that. These satellites are designed with a maximum lifespan. Being in low earth orbit, they can send them to burn up in the atmosphere pretty easily when they want to "decommission" them.
