Curious what the big tyme, players who are worth 6 figures plus are using.
Im not worth nearly that btw.

Monarch is great but like $100/yr

We started using Dave Ramsey's Every Dollar App about three years ago. It's been a game changer for our finances...helped us really get on the same page.

I use Monarch. Makes it easy to track across all of my accounts.

I used mint for a long time then went over the Simplifi after the mint train ended. It’s not perfect but I like it.

I was previously doing excel. I am still using excel for my "big picture."
I started using Monarch earlier this year and its phenomenal for tracking, categorizing, and managing spending. It connects to all your bank accounts and auto populates transactions and you can create rules to auto assign to reoccurring transactions. I think it lacks in everything else.

Schedule D (Form 1040), specifically on Line 21.

I got in Piere when it was free as a beta tester. I use that to track credit cards and transactions in everything but my primary checking account. I use an excel file for my primary checking account.

I just have everything in my Edward Jones app. I don’t track savings, spend or anything. Update my numbers once or twice a year to see where I’m at. I also have the same thing with my work 401k and have the info for my other accounts in there to see where I am at with all accounts combined.

I check my accounts through their websites.
I don’t track with a spreadsheet.

How much tracking are you all doing?
Everything we need is within the apps or websites of the various banks, brokers. Credit cards, etc. We crosslink a few of the accounts within other apps to prevent jumping back and forth.

I don't. All the bills are auto drafted from my checking and whatever is left over every month gets invested
That's about it

Im the same for bills.
My wife pays them.
About once a year, I run summaries from the credit card and bank statements to get an eye on how we are doing.
I handle retirement. I spreadsheet it all. Update once monthly.

I cant recommend Monarch enough. I love it. I have everything loaded in including mortgages, 401ks, 529, auto loans, credit cards, etc. I was super concerned once Mint went away but it’s 10x better than Mint and well worth the $100/yr.

Excel spreadsheet
4 years of every expense broken down into major categories
I know what % each month I’ve saved and what categories are trending in the wrong direction
