MSU, Auburn, Texas, Georgia, and Arkansas look to be the teams to beat this year in the SEC. Those are your 20+ win conference teams.
Only 6 SEC teams have won 20+ conf games since 2021. 19 wins in league play absolutely gets you a top 8 seed.

19-11
Better pitching and hitting depth this year despite losing key pieces from last year. The league is still brutal. If nothing else, I trust Jay to have this team right in the thick of the conference race and national seed conversation.

Id love for LSU to get in the 20 SEC win club. But ill say they win 18 this year with having to replace your Friday and Saturday starters.

I'm always a bit too optimistic. I said 20-10 last year, which was close, but on the high side. 17-19 wins I think is a good range of expectation for what we've seen so far

Lsu has a tough road schedule this year

20-10 or undefeated since nothing I say or think will effect the outcome.

18-12 but hoping for 19-11 or 20-10. Make it to Omaha when the real season starts.

quote:First of all, 5 teams are not winning 20+ games lol. Second of all, let's break down the teams that, like you said, have the proven starting pitching. Out of the top 200 starting pitchers in America according to D1's preseason list.
MSU, Auburn, Texas, Georgia, and Arkansas look to be the teams to beat this year in the SEC. Those are your 20+ win conference teams.
MSU
- 1 guy who had more than 2 starts, and that 1 guy had a 4.59 ERA in the ACC.
Auburn
- 2 guys with more than 2 starts. Boasting 6.08 (in the ACC) and a 4.80 ERA in the SEC.
UT
- Best arm has one start in his career.
- two other guys with multiple starts and decent numbers
UGA
- 3 guys with starter innings, best ERA among them is a grad transfer with a 3.99 ERA in the B1G.
Arkansas
- 1 proven starter in Gaeckle, who actually was horrendous as a starter last year outside of an outing in Omaha.

19-11 They will be better than that, but Jay doesn’t care about the SEC enough to maximize the record.

Maybe not, but this team isn't winning more than 20 games so they have to lose to someone.
It's easy to say shite like that until you actually look at the schedule and say we win every series and we sweep a few and then the record comes out to 24-6. Then you realize that's impossible in this league
We got swept by Auburn last year in case you forgot. You would've said the same about that series this time last year too
