The Colts vs. Bears was a pretty awful Super Bowl. I’m a Steeler fan, but their Super Bowl in ‘05 against the Seahawks was a pretty awful game as well.

A lot of folks are right, there was no juice or specialness to this game. It had the same vibe as your standard mid-season game. Even the celebration was pretty flat.

College football no longer exists. It's professional college football now.

The point was its a better product. It is. And average NFL qbs make more than any roster in college football which has 105 players. Maybe the college kids deserve a raise.

I felt like that was the whole NFL season. It was just a very meh season so made sense the super bowl
Was the same. There were some solid playoff games but as a whole it was a pretty boring season in general.

Levi's is an erector set stadium. It has no soul. That translates through on TV. It's been horrible since the day it was built.

Ok, you don’t like the stadium- but that zero point zero to do with the game.

You had a bias to find something to bitch about before the teams was even announced.

That’s a you problem.

Explain how a stadium translates through TV?

ETA: the very definition of translate is to move one language to another, so I guess you are right it didn’t translate the halftime show to English.

lol

Sloppy but at least it had the 75 yard TD run and the gadget play.

V looks like it was a dud. MVP was from the losing team.

The blowouts of Bills and Broncos games were even worse to watch

No star power, teams nobody cares about, horrible announcers, terrible QB play, horrible stadium and city, bland uniforms extremely boring game, terrible commercials, atrocious halftime

There isn't a single thing about it that was good.

This game was awful. The entire thing was just bland.

NFL should see the warning signs, but they won't

Serious question....what could they do if they did see them?

I would agree that historical Super Bowl blowouts are worse, but it seemed obvious early that the Pats weren’t going to win and it was a boring game.

While the NFL had some decent storylines with Darnold and the resurgent Pats, the on field product wasn’t good. I think that is a real problem for the league aside from other issues involving halftime shows and their general politics offending a chunk of potential fan viewership.

You must not have been around in the '90s when the NFC kept steamrolling the AFC for much of the decade. Or several other Super Bowl blowouts since then.

NBC was way out over their skies with the Olympics and Super Bowl, and Super Bowl got the short end of the stick. I'm sure if you lived in a Barrio or a Housing Project you loved it. Then that whole Super Bowl Crew had to fly all night to Milan to join the Olympics. Aside from a suck-arse game, nothing else worked as well. Awful product.

Why would they ? They know people will again come back in late August to watch them.

When they changed the kickoff rule, I stopped watching altogether, outside of the Saints

The new kickoff format is, I think, one of the very few things they have done right recently. Leads to actually having kickoff returns again.

What's sad is that had both teams wore their throwback uniforms, this would've been the greatest uniform match-up in Super Bowl history, if not then damned near it. The red, white, and blue Pat Patriot get-up against the Seahawks' silver and blue would've looked flippin' sweet.

People are missing the purpose of the NFL…it’s a SPORTING COMPETITION, at least it’s supposed to be. It’s not entertainment, it’s sports. Sports can be entertaining, but entertainment shouldn’t be the primary purpose. It’s competition and as Herm Edwards said you PLAY TO WIN!!!! You want scripted entertainment go watch WWE. I’d rather win 7-6 than lose 45-42 all day long. Sadly most people these days don’t seem to agree.

Josh Allen Trevor Lawrence and Caleb Williams get more praise for looking sexy in a loss than the Seahawks and Patriots get for ACTUALLY FRICKING WINNING GAMES!!

It’s not about the most yards. Not about sexiness, style points, none of that BS. It’s concerning that so many people seem to just want the sexiest matchup in the SB instead of the teams that EARNED IT ON THE FIELD BY WINNING THE NECESSARY GAMES TO GET THERE!

No rules need to be changed. Sorry you didn’t get Josh Allen versus Caleb Williams or whatever but the system isn’t broken. It’s doing exactly what it’s designed to do.

All this whining about how low scoring games are boring, and yet people wonder why the NFL keeps changing rules to benefit the offense.

I thought the game was dogshit and one of the worst I've watched as an adult, but everyone here pretending that the Super Bowl is historically an epic matchup and not a lopsided beatdown are fooling themselves.

Every SB score
