The Witcher wasn't successful after season 1 because "The Witcher" was no longer the main character. Get Woke, Go broke.

They strayed from the greatest source material.

All they had to do was stick to the short stories.

Almost like there’s a lesson here for other fantasy shows…

Huh.

Not that it really matters, but there’s some speculation that Cavill is not straight.

No, it doesn't, but you have to be vocally out to get the points.

And to be fair, there are few "perceived' straight, masculine men in that biz who don't have the closet gay rumors chasing them.

He's an A list actor by any metric. Megastar though? Like Tom Cruise or Brad Pitt? I don't think those exist anymore in purely the Hollywood sense.

Please point me in the direction of the highest grossing actors in 2024 and tell me how many of them have come out vocally.

All I’m saying is, I don’t think that has anything to do with why cavill is not a star.

To be fair...

Hollywood isn't putting out very much in the way of great stories any longer. Much of what we get is some form of weak writing with a too-narrow focus toward appealing to certain groups. When that's framed with an attempt to push/lecture a social narrative, by definition you've limited your potential audience.

That’s alone should have made him an action star. He’s fricking great in that movie and they should have brought him back to frick shite up in the newest one.

Agree. Huge mistake to kill his character at the end of Fallout.

Witcher had nothing to do with him and all to do with writers making the show more about the ensemble cast and less about THE WITCHER.

Would be the perfect Bond. Reboot with an origin story/traditional Bond caper set in '62. Sydney Sweeney's tits need to be in it as well.

The cringiest shite I’ve seen on the internet in the last few years is men saying “I’m a straight man BUT I would let Henry Cavill rail me!!!”

He’s about as big of an actor / star that you can be these days, not sure what level you expect him to be at.

Exactly.

They can avoid all the woke/DEI bullshite by making them period pieces and there are enough gaps in the early movies for other missions.

He's got the Warhammer series coming up, a future Highlander role, and rumors about Captain Britain.

Captain Britain? Serious or Austin Powers-esque?

He's not?

I just presumed he was picky about what he appears in.
