Got a mild case on the back of my neck.

Get the anti viral medicine and a steroid shot as soon as you can and your symptoms will be milder.

No, and hopefully I never do. I remember my grandmother having it on her side and back and she looked miserable. Our neighbor had it several months ago in her face and eye and it looked bad and painful. It was probably 3 weeks before it finally cleared up.

I had shingles when I was about 19years old. That’s been a lheck of a long time ago, and I still remember it being a flat miserable time. I am now eligible for the vaccine and am going to get it the next time I visit my doctor

Had it a couple years ago, was just a small area on my back. Doctor prescribed me Valtrex which is a herpes drug but I guess it works on shingles.

My mother in law found out and brought it up in a restaurant, she asked how the Valtrex was working out. Pretty embarrassing because then everyone thought I had herpes.

Got it a month after having shoulder surgery 18 months ago. Had it on my right foot and did a teledoc and he said it’s a fungal rash

2 weeks later it didn’t go away and finally saw my GP. Said it was shingles and gave me the medicine but the nerve damage had been done

It sucks bad. I get tingling in my foot and what’s weird is anytime I’m stressed or feel panic my right foot feels like it’s on fire

Mine started on my lower back, then wrapped around the side onto my inner thigh and the side of my ball sack. Thankfully, the pain was not bad at all.

Never had chicken pox…

Neither had I until I was 42 years old. It was ungodly awful at that age. Go get whatever shots are on offer now to innoculate yourself against it, or hope you’re never exposed to it (which you will be because kids carry it around on ‘em).

Yes. Brutal. Had it when I was about 21 or 22. Motherfricker. About a year ago I figured I'd better take the vaccine.

Some will tell you once you've had it you won't get it again but I'd rather err of the side of caution, hence the vaccine.

My grandma swore by “smothering” it out by putting clear nail polish on them.

I got it when I was 52, it was not so bad, but I caught it early. Went straight to the doctor, got on medication. The worst part was the odd "crawling" itchy sensation around my ribcage. Other than that, it was over in about a week or two.

Yes, fortunately I knew it was coming before the rash and I started antiviral meds early. Very mild case.

It sucks. I had had it on my back shoulder blade and it spread to my armpit. It was Summer and I recall lots of travel for work. Any time someone patted my back it was pretty severe nerve pain. Hard to describe the pain because it’s not like a cramp, pulled muscle, broken bone, etc. it was a very different type of pain. The armpit part just sucked all day every day. Hope to never get them again.

Had it twice. First time on my back, started as an itch that grew into painful blisters. Second time was on my eyebrow swelled up and hurt terribly.

That's bullshite.

I had full blown first time and remembered that distinct tingle when it starts.

Got an RX for Valtrex and that helped keep that second bout very mild
