We have tv’s with camera/soundbars that we connect with via clickshare. We’ve got one camera that randomly zooms in on people during calls. It’s so bizarre and awkward

My story with those damn cameras:

It was a couple of days after my vasectomy, we had been in this damn meeting for an hour, and I was starting to get really uncomfortable, so I tried to discreetly get up and go to the back of the conference room to adjust myself.

Well those damn cameras follow movement, so it zooms in on me and blasts me on the screen while I'm very carefully and painfully adjusting myself in the meeting.

Just a bit awkward.

I just got off of an internal meeting. Three people and one person dominated 90 minutes of my day when I am trying to keep it light to enjoy time with family while they are all home. Now I need to go to the office so I can actually get some work done

Video calls really have become an easy way for certain people to feel productive while holding others hostage.

I thought my 8-10 per day were a lot

another perk of Teams meetings, as I'm in one right now while posting in this thread

These should be outlawed. Dealing with a client now who insists on wasting everyone’s time in these in the most drawn out, painfully long, torturous way possible.

It's the awkward silence that gets me. "Anyone have any thoughts on that..............................."

Teams meetings are critical to what I do because some of my clients are in other countries

It sounds like the people who are running yours are a bunch of imbeciles

It’s truly baffling how so many people are so technologically illiterate when it comes to these things. Person doesn’t know where to find the link, doesn’t realize they’re on mute, can’t see who’s on the meeting, etc. And don’t get me started on the endless chatter about nothing related to the meeting. We have one weekly Monday morning company conference call and it’s the same shite show every time.

I don’t really see the issue here, it’s obviously your job to be in meetings whether that’s sales, consulting, management, etc.

Worse than a bunch of teams meetings is 2-3 a day for 1-2 hours. Teams meetings for 10 mins with different people are nice to me. Get some FaceTime and change it up.

ETA: I often have meetings scheduled for 30 mins and I end them after 5. Just a little chit chat, answer a question, get our monthly chat in, and move on with life. That sales guy or tech support just got 25 mins to dick around until his next meeting. You’re welcome

The reason for these Teams meetings are to ensure there are no siloed conversations.

Looks like that's it for today, it's 1154, we got done a little early so I'm going to give you your six minutes back
