ICE officers can't apply for Maryland state police jobs

I'm sure they're all tripping all over themselves to apply...... 
This is one of the worst examples of virtue signaling yet. Maryland is sure doing a great job of antagonizing the feds on a daily basis.

Boafo says this legislation would prevent anyone who chose to join ICE after Jan. 20, 2025 — the date of Trump’s return to the White House — from serving in law enforcement positions within the Maryland State Government. The bill would not prohibit ICE officers and agents from working in other areas of state government.
“Anyone who joined ICE before the inauguration of Donald Trump, anyone who actually swore the oath to try and protect the border, and actually go after violent offenders is not affected,” Baofo said. “You are welcome to Maryland with open arms."

I could see this going to court. Probably not legit to prohibit hires based on political reasons, which this clearly is. Especially for gov't jobs, which state police are probably considered.

Yep. Fundamental violation of labor law. Anyone can apply. Doesn’t mean you get the job, and the employer isn’t required to respond to or even look at your application. Typical dumbass leftist virtue signaling.

ICE has enough bonus money (I think around 900 million dollars) to give EACH ICE employee around $40k this year...that's in addition to their regular salary.
