I will be sure to put on the full Armour of God before each class to protect me from any pagan or Hindu spirits

I try it a little to supplement other exercise and sports. Looks like you are at LT, highly recommend Warrior Sculpt which is also heated.

Im so glad I started this thread - thanks. I actually just changed to Warrior Sculpt instead as it seems like a good intro for me.

You can use their mat. I don't think there's a mat out there that is better than others. The gloves are because the rubber mats still get really, really slippery when it's got sweat all over it. And I'd get them for your feet. You can get all kinds of mats. There are rubber mats with a cloth surface that work great, but they have to be cleaned by hand and can't be washed. You can take a cloth that's essentially made for yoga mats and cover any yoga mat and it can be washed. The cloth diminishes the need for the gloves on your hands/feet, but it has to be "dealt with" some way. They gloves let you get by without using any kind of cloth.
And if you've never done any yoga, take a look at some basic yoga postures on yt just so you know what the instructor is saying when they give instructions, not so you can keep up but just to kind of know what you're stretching. The instructors don't give alternatives for each pose, generally, though they'll tell you you can do this or that if you can't do that or this. Just do something that feels like you won't get injured and do some stretching. Eventually, you'll figure it out.

I'm not sure WS is more of an intro than hot yoga. WS does some HIIT, in addition to some serious bodyweight training. Hot yoga is hot and you will definitely realize the ability to push iron weight does not give you the ability to stand on one leg for minutes at a time or maintain a yoga position using shoulder strength. It's got a cardio aspect to it for sure, but WS is a def cardio workout, in heat. They have slower yoga classes that aren't heated that are great, also. If anyone there is doing an Ashtanga class, those are great.

Yoga invites the devil. Doing it hot only acclimates you a bit to where you're headed.

Bet you’re stiff as frick. Thought the same thing then turned 40.
Doesn’t have to be hot, but every male over 49 should incorporate instructor lead yoga a few times a month, if not more often.
Being flexible and having minimal to zero issues beats an ego any day.

It’s like my thing.
I do stretch for ~15 minutes twice a day.

Ive seen some of their youtubes. As a rower, their rowing machine makes me irrationally angry. The design doesn't duplicate an actual rowing stroke and their instructional videos are garbage.

What does yoga do anyway?

Yoga for a man (and mostly for a woman) is a waste of time.
I’m with you on that, however I stretch and do Pilates as well.
I’d say do yoga if you wanna be good at doing yoga. Same goes for aerobics.

I did hot yoga once and the movements/exercises were fine. But the religious contatations made me uncomfortable and were off putting. It's all salutations and giving praise to mysterious deities. I can see where more devout people might be unable to get past it. I found this reference from a religious journal..
"In today’s culture, yoga is often marketed as a harmless form of exercise, stretching, breathing, and relaxation. Many people, including Christians, assume it is just a neutral wellness practice. However, when we look at yoga’s origins, spiritual framework, and intended purpose, it becomes clear that it is not compatible with biblical Christianity.
1. The Origins of Yoga Are Rooted in Pagan Religion
Yoga is not simply a workout routine; it is an ancient spiritual discipline from Hinduism. The word yoga comes from the Sanskrit root yuj, meaning “to yoke” or “to unite,” and its purpose is to unite the practitioner’s consciousness with Brahman, the impersonal Hindu concept of god (Feuerstein, The Yoga Tradition, 2001). In Hindu philosophy, yoga is inseparable from the worship of false gods and spiritual practices forbidden in Scripture (Exodus 20:3–5; Deuteronomy 12:29–31)."
